Grievance Update June 2019
 
Tour one 19131; the issue centers on tour one acting supervisor doing mail handler work at the Flat Sorter machine; issue resolve the applicable witness shall receive a lump sum payment of $20.

Tour one 19121, 19182, and 19166; the issue centers on tour one manager instructing a PIV Operator on the Linear Sorter to report to the Robot to dispatch mails to the platform. Union argues that line management violated the National Agreement and past practices by instructing the Linear Sorter operator to perform work outside their job description and selecting employees to perform higher level you must canvass the immediate work area and/or tour list. Issue resolved the employee shall receive a lump sum payment of $68 for time outside her bid.

19116 Tour three; in this issue the Union argued that management unilaterally changed a 204-B work schedule which violates the National Agreement. Issue resolved the 204B shall receive out-of-schedule premium for the period of 2.23.2019 through 3.29.2019.

19100 Tour one; in this issue the Service unilaterally changed a light duty work hours from 11pm to 3am; Union argued that the change in work hours from 11pm to 3am was not for legitimate or sound business reasons, and as such; violates the National Agreement; issue resolved the Grievant shall resume his former work hours of 11pm.

19106 Tour three; Grievant requested for a 3 day absence Family and Medical Leave
Act-FMLA under the term of absence plus treatment. Originally the absence was denied claiming an untimely issue; however, after some consideration the Service agreed to change the leave to FMLA.

19216 Tour one; in this issue the Service assigned an expediter to perform mail handler work at the Linear Sorter; issue resolved the applicable witness shall receive a lump sum payment of $20.

19239 Tour one; in this issue the Service assigned an expediter to perform mail handler work at the Linear Sorter; issue resolved the applicable witness shall receive a lump sum payment of $80.

19238 Tour one; in this issue the Service assigned an expediter to perform mail handler work at the Linear Sorter; issue resolved the applicable witness shall receive a lump sum payment of $60.
