Mid Island considered priority when transferring…

The union has been informed that Mid Island is overstaffed and there is a need to excess employees from the facility effective February 2018. The original number of employees being excessed was seventeen however, due to attrition that number has been reduced to eight with more reductions to come that would eliminate the need to excess anyone.

However, because Mid Island is earmarked for excessing the facility has been deemed priority which means… Priority station gives any employee who was to transfer through the E-reassign will go to the top of the list in the facility they are attempting to go to. Also, when on Priority management can not disqualify any employee from getting a transfer. Management cannot look at safety, discipline or attendance and must accept the employee, providing there are vacancies in that facility.
