Grievance Update September 2017

16443 Tour one; Grievant underwent surgery and to cover the absences the employee applied for Advance Sick Leave of 240 hours or 30 days. The Service approved the request, but short changed the employee and granted him only 160 hours because the employee had sufficient annual leave, therefore, the remaining time used by the employee for recuperation went to annual leave. Union argues that in spite of his annual leave the Service violated handbook ELM and as such; request that the sick leave requested be granted and his annual leave be restored. Issue resolved, the annual leave used shall be restored.

17056 Tour three; Grievant on limited duty was denied an opportunity to work her holiday-Presidents Day, because of her limited duty status. Issue resolved, the employee shall receive a lump sum of $120.

15 cases filed on Tour one; in these many cases the union argued that Postal Management from Senior Managers, to Supervisors and to Acting Supervisors performed mail handler work and that these infraction must stop. Issue resolved, applicable witnesses shall receive a lump sum of $480.
